Father’s day is just around the corner. Actually, it’s next month and I still don’t have any idea what to give my own father. I don’t want just any kind of men’s gift. It should be something special. Something he can use or something he can use once in awhile but is valuable. It doesn’t have to be expensive. I remember one of the retirement gifts I gave him. It was his favorite picture with his officemates. So I had all his office buddies sign the picture frame with that photo in it. He loved it. So I was thinking of a gift along that line. Something personalized like some graduation gift baskets I saw online. Actually I’m sure that my dad would appreciate any gift I give him. He’s not materialistic or anything. I realized just now how hard it was for my mom back in the day when they were still together. I say good for her and not so good for me because I’m still having a hard time obviously. I love nature and I enjoy walking. That’s why golf would have been a suitable sport for me except that I am not a big fan of the sun and the freckles it tends to give me. It’s mid-November and start of entertaining season. We should be expecting a lot of Christmas parties, reunions and even out-of-town trips. And all I can think of is how to schedule everything. I don’t have a ‘yaya’ and as much as I would like to be spontaneous, I can’t. Everything has to be scheduled and prepared days or even weeks before. That’s how it is being a mommy.
