project: shoes

For my june project, let’s play some guessing game. I call this my SHOE PROJECT. Very creative title, right?!?! Anyway, I took pictures of my subjects concentrating only on their faces and their foot wear. Now, let’s see if you can match the following faces with their shoes based only on short descriptions.

So, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post with your answer/s. For example and a giveaway, I,6 is a match. OK. It’s that easy but each blogger only gets to guess 3 times (whether correct or not). Is there a prize? Yes, there is. Is there a deadline? Yes, there is.

I’ll send the prize which is $20 (or higher, depending on my mood or the moon) through Paypal and this game will run for 3 days starting now till June 20, 11.59pm, Manila time.

The winner will be chosen (from all correct entries) via old-fashioned “tambola” or random.org. Haven’t decided yet. And forgive the lay-out, guys. I know it’s hard having to scroll down just to see the shoes. =)

Here are the willing victims (not their real names):

A) highschool students grp1

B) timmy, honor student

C) allan, badminton fanatic

D) marion, car enthusiast

E) highschool students grp2

F) bob, corporate slave

G) paris, fashionista

H) tricia, weight-conscious teen

I) juanch, home-schooled boy

J) jeng, housewife/the boss

K) tony, library assistant

And their shoes:

project: the bag of amazing kcat

It’s a pleasure to have this amazing young lady as my last contributor for project:bag. A gal who just LOVES to give back to the world anything she can and anything she has. She’s selfless, optimistic and just plain happy. She might be lacking in some areas but she’s lucky to have a family who truly loves and supports her all the way.

She has recently undergone cochlear implant and she’s loving every minute of her journey to hearing. She’s currently helping out a kid obtain this cochlear implant which costs over a million pesos. Hope we could at least spread the word so Katrina would be able to hear.

Kcat, you’re really a remarkable person. Hope you continue to inspire others to be a little bit more like you.

——-

hello ate cherry! here’s my entry for your project:

I started blogging in 2003, though I kept it private up to now, that’s my sort of private diary. Then I started 2 group blogs in 2004 (http://gya.blogspot.com and http://leatackpau.livejournal.com). I decided to start my personal-public-blog in 2005. I love writing about my pain (literally) and happy happy joy joy. I blog about anything that comes to my mind. I’m fond of reading my old posts and reminiscing about the things that I’ve experienced. I think reminding myself that I’ve overcome a certain pain is the reason why I’m stronger. And those happy memories make me grateful even more. There’s no “if only” because I have already done it. :)

I panicked when my original blog (http://underkcat.blogspot.com) disappeared for few days. I really don’t know why and how. I was so sad. It’s really like breaking up with someone. Haha! After a few day of disappointment, I realized that I have to move on. I created a new blog (http://iamkcat.blogspot.com).

Luckily, after a week, underkcat came back! But I didn’t delete nor abandon iamkcat. Instead I cross-post everything I write in underkcat and from my multiply blog as well. Yup, I also have a blog in multiply (http://tack.multiply.com). I also have a blog in Friendster, though i just put some lyrics of my favorite songs in there. And another in DailyStrength, which is for my goal (to hear). I just love blogging. :)

I bring along my bag with me wherever I go and place it beside me while I’m on my wheelchair. Whenever I change my bag, I have to transfer everything in it. Everything is a necessity. I just scattered the items inside my bag and this is what came out of it.

Here are the trash inside my bag :P

  • Eye Drops - I have very very dry eyes and I my eyes need those drops to avoid too much dryness that causes my eyes to turn red.
  • Toilet Seat Cover - :P
  • Magnifying Glass - for reading super small fonts. My eyes are really blurry especially my right. Feeling detective. Haha!
  • Flashlight - because I read lips and I can’t see in the dark.
  • Sunglasses - for protection. Really! My eyes hurt when there’s too much sunlight.
  • My Glasses - for near and far.
  • Hand Sanitizer - Since my left hand is not moving and I always use my right, it should always be clean. Of course hands should always be clean.
  • Face Towel - I’m so messy when eating since my facial muscles aren’t moving whenever I chew so I always spill out my food. And I’ a drooler at times. Haha! Yuck!
  • Lipbalm
  • Cellphones
  • My Cochlear Implant Case - It’s as simple as YEHEY!
  • My Coin Purse - I bring it with or without money inside. Hehe.
  • Rosary Bracelet & St. Jude - The rosary was given to me by my aunt’s friend which she bought from Fr. Suarez (the healing priest). I tape it on my right hand during my MRI (which is every 6months), I just don’t want to remove it from my bag.
  • Mini Notebook/planner - This is optional, I don’t bring this all the time. I ask whoever I meet randomly for their friendster email address and I let them write it there so that I could add them when I get home. :)

tc & God bless!

Thanks again, Kcat.

project: versatile bag of tina

A mother, a lover, a writer, an expert ?

Well, this lady is all that plus more. I met Tina through Entrecard. I am one of her regular entrecard droppers and I joined her “I’m a Drop Star”project. Tina is the writer/editor of Mummy Diaries. Her blog is full of useful tips on kid’s health and safety, household items, home care, mommy care and even economy and business. What do you think she does when she’s not busy blogging?

For now, we’ll know a bit more about her through her bag. Let’s see what she keeps inside. We might find out a thing or two why she has limitless tips to share with everyone.

——-

I have finally managed to sort out my bag picture for you!

This is my going out bag. Amazingly all my stuff fits in it, but to look at it, you wouldn’t think so! I have 3 compartments lol!

Inside my bag if you can’t see are:

* Deoderant
* Perfume
* Plasters
* House and car keys
* Mobile Phone
* Lipstick
* Purse
* Mirror/brush compact

About me:

Stay at Home Mom to my 2 boys Evan and Lewis aged 3 years and 11 months. I quit my job of 9 years a year ago at a Letting Agents to become a full time mom. I live with my boyfriend Brett, who I have been with for over 8 years.

How I started blogging:

At first I had maternity pay to tied me over, but when that ran out I was struggling for money. My partner could only give me a small allowance as he still went out to work and paid all the bills. But i needed money of my own to live my life.

I struggled to find a legitimate job where I could work from home, then I asked on a forum called Hot Deals, and someone suggested paid blogging to me. I thought it was great idea as I love writing, and see myself as creative, and also good way to make new friends too.

My blog is about Life of a Stay At Home Mom, Reviews on things I have bought and general thoughts on everything! You can also find quizzes and memes on there regulary, advice and suggestions for moms & lots of family pictures too! Along with all sorts of other ramblings!

project: who is ezra/h?

Who is Ezra/h?

a. He’s a character in the Bible.
b. Ezra is a common male first name and a very rare surname.
c. A band called Better Than Ezra.
d. A girl also named Zerisse.
e. All of the above.

All choices are correct but I’m not here to talk about a, b or c. I’m here to introduce d. The girl from the South who is very much in love with her husband, who has just finished her Nursing course and who has got everything going great for her. She couldn’t ask for anything else. Even her bag is full to the brim of essentials and knick knacks.

It’s a pleasure to have you here, Ezrah. I mean, Zerisse.

——-

Hi! I’m finally joining your project! :) took me a long time to take a snap at my bag!

current purse: Coach original

This is my bag. It’s contents are pretty simple…nothing too complicated…and pretty much the basics err things that I usually grab when I’m in a hurry. Since I just graduated from college, I started using these small - medium purses.

The Inside Scoop

a closer look

  1. Gloss - I’m using Sweet Talk by VS. I’m not really a lipstick girl so I stick to the shimmery gloss.
  2. Pen - Pretty basic just in case I need to write something. There’s also a piece of paper somewhere…
  3. House Keys - I carry them around when I remember to.
  4. Wallet - No need to explain what’s inside…the moolah, plastic, membership cards, a few giftcards, and scraps (I’m messy this way)
  5. Coin Purse - You pretty much ruin your purse when you stuff them with coins so I have a coin purse with me. Also contains calling cards, frequent customer cards, rewards cards…and more scrap
  6. Hair Doctor - Just in case I need to brush my hair.
  7. Hand Sanitizer - I’m using Bath and Body Works’ Country Apple scent. Pretty handy when you decide to eat street foods.
  8. Handkerchief - Pretty handy in the Philippines. It’s really hot here.
  9. Ipod - I need music in my life! About 2 thousand songs, a few pictures and a few movies…currently not updated!
  10. Cellphones - I currently have two…prepping myself for going to another country.
  11. Book - I do bring pocket books wherever I go.

The Outside Scoop

I started blogging a couple of years ago but it was touch and go for a few years. I wasn’t that active a blogger until a few months ago when I graduated. It was pretty hard maintainin my blogs while in school especially since my course was very demanding and a few posts where all I could manage. Now I’m back full force! I am currently maintaining two blogs Deranged Insanity and Coffee Cup Princess with one struggling photoblog Traipsey Turvey that I don’t seem to update as regularly as my other blogs.
I’m a certified bookworm, a struggling photomanipulator, frustrated writer, crazy blogger, music lover, and certified wacko. I just got married last March, too.

project: kcee, the artist-cum-writer and her bag

I normally do my blog reading and posting on the bed with my kid beside me. Whenever I’m busy with blogging, I make sure that she’s busy, too. I give her writing and tracing activities or coloring books. I glance at her work from time to time. She doesn’t mind me at all. I guess she does not find my work interesting enough to merit her attention. But tables are turned whenever I read KCee’s blog. She puts down her work and keeps on saying her friend’s name while pointing at either Kcee’s entrecard widget or the photos of her daughter. She thinks KCee’s kid is her friend Onisa.

KCee and I have many things in common. We both love to write. We have daughters, more or less the same age. We display our children’s art in our blogs. We are in our 30’s and and we sometimes worry about aging.
We’re coffee drinkers and Starbucks is heaven for us. And we both love Benicio Del Toro. I think we were sisters in our past lives.

Now, let’s see if you too have something in common with KCee.

———–

My Bag

Contents

These are the basic items in my bag - wallet, mobile phone, perfume, mineral loose powder, lip gloss, alcohol ( I prefer this over hand sanitizers, I feel they don’t kill enough germs!), facial tissue, a minimum of 2 pens (I usually have 4 of them), cutter (this will be useful in case of stranger attack. Quite paranoid, huh!).

About Me

I have a full time day job, but I also do freelance jobs after office. Actually, I tend to enjoy more the latter. It’s my dream to become a stay-at-home mom and go full time on freelancing. Oh, if only I could!

Some find it too juvenile to write in a diary. I don’t. I believe nobody is too young or too old for this activity that actually empowers and inspires the writer in some way. I have always felt a sense of security and comfort putting my thoughts on paper, as it unloads what occupies my mind and heart which can be quite liberating. Through the years, I have collected a number of diaries in different colors, shapes and sizes, and it’s always an emotional trip down memory lane whenever I start flipping the pages.

It was two years ago when I started blogging, but it’s only now that I have dedicated more time and effort into it. For me it’s pretty much like keeping a diary, except that I do it now by typing my thoughts and publishing them online for everyone to read. I’m currently enjoying meeting great people from all over the world that I wouldn’t have met had I not been blogging.

——-

Thanks KCee and keep on writing. You’re next zerisse! And check out other contributors while you’re here.

project: ria’s organized bag

It’s project time once again and I’d like to thank all the people who have sent their articles so far.
So today we’re in for something lovely because this girl seems to have no problem in the world (though, she has gone through a lot). She seems so positive about life that it’s contagious sometimes. It would be a pleasure to introduce this bubbly and very friendly girl who I met in Blogcatalog. I think I joined her ongoing discussion and she was kind enough to visit my site and comment.

She was also the first person who has seen my whole face. Here’s the story. I was up late at night and tried to experiment with my profile in Blogcatalog. I tried to upload some of my photos, trying to see which one would look nice all the while thinking that no one could see them. It was only a matter of minutes but unfortunately, Ria was up too and saw them. Read what she had to say.

Still, I was not brave enough to leave it be. As you have probably noticed, I don’t show my whole face–not in my profile, not in my posts and not for the next month or so. Here’s to Ria who has seen my face and who I’ll be having coffee with in person when she visits this July . I’m looking forward to it. =)

——-

What’s inside my bag?

P1040334Everytime I have to change bag to match my outfit has caused me some dilemma. Not that I have gazillions of bags to choose from but I just wonder which bag will suffice to accommodate the stuff I’ll be putting in =)

At the time I got the tag, I am using my favourite brown bag and just for the sake of divulging to the public what I cannot live without, here they are:

P1040334P1040322P1040322

I have my mobile phone, a small notebook to jot down ideas (& the plate numbers of those who cut me on the road! Hahaha), a sachet of “ampalaya (bitter gourd)” tea, pack of gum, USB flash, 2 cds, my wallet, my rosary, car keys/house keys, wet wipes, hair brush, small make-up kit (full of glosses, eyeliners, and a Vandol Ointment tube which I use as a layer for my lip gloss (it softens my lips. I swear!!!!), my company ID and my favourite compact – La Prairie. I swear, if this bag can still hold another item, my sunglasses will be in it too! I decided to leave it in the car. No more space…=)

You might wonder how they all fit in my medium-sized shoulder bag, well, it’s just a matter of how you organize to accommodate all. No tricks!!! All of them are there. The phone is kept at the side of my wallet and the small stuff are in the pocket and remember the 2 pockets outside the bag? The car/house keys are in the other side and the gum and flash disk are in the other. Presto!

There goes…

A little info about my blog:

My party is a site for everything I want to talk about or whatever strikes me at the moment. Mostly it’ll be about my life, family issues, friends, shopping, travel, arts and craft of my daughter and some snippets of life’s philosophy and oh, throw in some creative juice of my poetic side ;)

A little background on the author:

I started blogging in late 2005 out of boredom. I thought “why not put all those ‘angst’ into words” and so I did. My blogs were rather bleak and gloomy because that’s how I felt that time – bleak and gloomy. However, I stopped when one of my family members passed away. I temporarily lost all will to squeeze my brains for some creative juice. I decided to stay under the radar until lately. My Uncle (Ruan’s Corner) prodded me to blog. I gave in and never turned my back again. I have met great blog friends like the author of this tag – Chi and have gained readers world-wide. Who would have thought that this blogging thing will open many opportunities and weave friendships in the process? I guess I’m staying on the ride for as long as I can. Now, my perspective in life has changed dramatically so more of my thoughts are inspired by my family, my positive outlook in life and the friends who make my party rock!

—–

Thanks Ria for letting us peak into your bag and your life. See you soon. You’re next Kcee.

project: hot momma’s little pouch

I simply can’t believe that one of my favorite people in the blogosphere, Hot Momma, has faved me in Entrecard. I’m floored. I have such high respect for this lady that it’s humbling to know that she wanted to join my little project. Her mom blog is one of my daily reads. I can almost always relate to what she talks about because we’re both mothers. She’s truly one hot mama. =)

In case, you’re not familiar with her (it’s your loss, really), she’s also the writer behind Pinoy Around The World. She now resides overseas and this blog chronicles her life abroad and all Pinoys living far from home. Naturally, her awesomeness is now spreading overseas and also here.

I can’t thank you enough.

—–
Unfortunately, there is nothing exciting about my bag or bags because they contain only the essentials. I have quite a few bags but I don’t have enough opportunity to use them. My work here in the UK is a mere two minute dash across the street so I don’t usually carry a big bag, only a small brown leather pouch that contains what is essential to me.

Which leads me to what I can’t live without: my lipstick, my house keys and my bunch of ID’s and cards. The last items, perhaps it’s because I always want to have proof of my being a legitimate person/foreigner in an alien country. =)

My other everyday- use bag is a checkered item, an original Calvin Klein given to me by my hubby. It’s actually a hand bag. What is interesting about it is that he bought it for just one sterling pound, I think, from a car boot sale. It was brand new, with the packaging still in tact.

My blog, Pinoy Around the World is where I share anything that has something to do with my being Filipino and the fact that I live far from “home”. I also share stories or anecdotes about our being a resilient, hardworking race, peppered with stories of Pinoys making it big anywhere in the world.

I also maintain HotMomma, my other blog that centers on my being a Momma.

project: lotus flower’s bag

What makes a blog appeal to me? Original content and the person behind the blog. This is how I came to know this amazing person, my next contributor. Her blog talks about food safety, recipes and eating healthy. Lotus Flower is one of the few people who never think twice about extending a helping hand to a newbie blogger like me. When I bought books for my kid one day and made a post about it, I got a comment from this terrific woman asking me if I wanted to have her children’s used books. She was willing to give and fedex them to me. To a total stranger. At no cost.

You don’t believe me? Well, she’s gracious enough to share a bit of herself and take time out from her busy schedule to do this. Aside from sharing contents of her bag, you get to know how her unique blog came about and what it has done for her so far…So, let’s hear it from her. =)

—–

As promised here’s a pic of the insides of my handbag; the contents of which are: keys, (house,car, gate), ID’s/bank plasticcards, shades and prescription glasses, OLPH novena booklet, compact powder, lipstick, small hairbrush, cellphone, pen, hanky, folding umbrella, purse, rosary, and a tiny bible.

My first blog was on blogger and my first post was dated 2002. I had a very, very limited time then, and access to a computer was likewise difficult. My 2nd son’s desktop was in his room and during the day he’s asleep because he worked nights. After he leaves, his younger brother takes over command of that same desktop.

It was almost 2 years ago that my son bought himself a new desktop and so his laptop was passed on to his younger brother. A laptop was subsequently brought into our home and that’s when I became active in learning the rudiments of blogging.

Blogging gave me a healthy dose of hope because it allowed me to view life the way I never knew before. From others on the web, I have learned what’s important.. and that in this world, there are also certain things I can easily do without. I didn’t realize that blogging taught me to completely express my fears, deal with my frustrations and eventually turned all these negative expressions to positive self-discovery. I am happy that this experience is slowly turning me into a whole person again.

——–

Thank you, my dear Lotus Flower. Next week, watch out for Hot Momma’s blog and bag story!
