i’m back, i think

Tags: , ,

I miss blogging. All I do nowadays is write. Write for a quick buck even if it means spending hours in front of the computer for a measly dollar. But it’s still good money. One buck here, a buck there and they pile up, it’s still huge money. That’s how I think now whereas before, I wouldn’t even get up and get out of bed to get to a meeting that would mean huge commissions for me. Aha, time really flies so fast. And now I couldn’t even get clients to pay me 10 dollars for a 500 word article. Sad. At least, there’s work and there’s money. Anyway, I miss blogging. I could write whatever I want here without worrying about word count or grammar. This is my space and even if I write an alien language, no one and by that I mean, no one would ever say, “hey, you didn’t use the right keyword here. Search engines see pilot and pilots as two different things.” Crap, when I searched for pilots, pilot also appeared in search engines. These clients are perfectionists in a weird kind of way.

Hmmm, so how have you all been? I just came by to say I miss blogging and it might be another week or two before I could even come back here. Right this minute, I have three more articles to write not counting my client from Lithuania who wants me to write about engineering schools in India, 3000 words. No specifics. Just that. What’s so interesting about engineering? Oh well, to each his own. So have a good two weeks and talk to you soon.

photo of the day: updates

My goodness! I know I haven’t updated but that’s because these past few days have been beyond busy! I only got to sleep 4 to 5 hours most days this week and now I feel like a zombie about to die again. I’ll tell you more about that later on when the busyness has finally died down.

I did not go on shopping sprees although that would have been nice. Part of my busyness has to do with finding more work to augment my income. I need money, you know. Anyway, when you’re busy, you tend to lose sight of everything except the one you’re currently focused on. So I became more tired than usual. I stopped doing my chores. I even stopped washing my face in the evenings as I was so tired and sleepy. My clothes started piling up, the dishes started creeping from my sink. Awful mess, really. But today, I get to relax. But tomorrow would be another busy day. I should be happy because it means more money coming in. But deep inside I am feeling unsure and stressed, and couldn’t find pleasure in the situation I’m in.

All I want to do is hug my little girl all day and watch television but I can’t. I have to work. In the meantime, I am hoping you all had a good weekend. I’m leaving you with this picture as I go back to my temporary happiness. Back to reality again tomorrow. =(

2010

December 31, 2009

I stopped making New Year’s resolutions a few years ago after making too many unfulfilled promises and goals to myself and feeling bad about it. I’m not knocking them if you’re a fan and have tried to do your resolutions all year long, I’m just no good with such a big weight on my shoulders. Well, my New Year’s resolutions are no biggie (I’ll lose 50 lbs and be a waif for once in my life or I’ll single-handedly be responsible for world peace), but I can’t seem to do them. =)

Right now, I promise to instead of resolve something major, I would try to make smaller life decisions that are part of my daily existence. I plan to eat one salad a day, drink more water, keep in touch with people who matter, stick to one cigarette a week, and clean up as I go. And of course, avoid the laundry from overflowing. Easy enough to do because I know they’re all possible without too much trouble. What are your goals for 2010?

dailies: best christmas ever

December 26, 2009

This Christmas is the best Christmas ever. We all had fun in Boracay as we dined, drank, swam and ate our hearts out. The family was inseparable. We did everything together as we tried to catch up on each other’s lives. It was good to talk. No conflicts, no hassles. I wish every day would be as uncomplicated as the last four days in this beautiful island. But it’s back to reality for us. In any case, hope you had a wonderful time with your family on Christmas day. Here are a few pictures from our Christmas in Boracay.

dailies: manny pacquiao and wapakman

November 18, 2009

So my bad feeling about the whole match was really just that because Manny won…again! And my impression about Miguel Cotto changed, too. He is not that tough as his exterior projects. But what I admire about him is he was sport about the whole thing. I wouldn’t have guessed that about him in a million years. After the referee stopped the match, he accepted his defeat and went over to Manny’s corner and shook his hand and congratulated him. So there you go. All’s well that ends well.

Thank you Manny for bringing honor to our country. And for that, panonoorin ko ang WAPAKMAN!!! Yun lang ang pwede kong gawin to show my appreciation kahit ayaw ko. Kayo, would you watch his movie as a sign of thanks and appreciation? =)

dailies: bad feeling

November 15, 2009

I have a bad feeling about Manny Pacquiao’s match today with Miguel Cotto. I hope it’s nothing. I just don’t trust his opponent. There’s something different about him that I can’t clearly place. It might be the face. I hope Manny wins. I’ve been praying for it for days now and I seldom pray for people I don’t know personally. Good luck to us all.

Go MANNY!

dailies: with the family

November 4, 2009
We’re here in Pampanga having a much needed long vacation. We didn’t have the chance to go anywhere last week because of planning booboos. All hotels and resorts were fully booked. You see, I don’t plan ahead. One week is the most I could manage to plan for anything–whether vacation, birthday parties or spa treatment. A month for me is too much. That’s why I didn’t anticipate that hotels might be booked for the long weekend last week. And true enough, no room was free. Anyway, we just arrived and we’re planning to stay here for two nights. So this is a bit early but happy weekend to you all. By the way, sun broadbrand signal here sucks.

dailies: halloween

October 27, 2009

Halloween is my least favorite holiday. I don’t know. I guess I have my mother to be blamed for that. She never let me go trick or treating when I was a kid. I would have probably chosen “Tricks” more than “Treats.” Halloween back then was just any ordinary day. But some people even go as far as decorating their houses and apartments. Most of the decorations are quirky and almost all are pumpkins. What can I say? Anyway happy halloween and have a good scare! =)

dailies: MG at the zoo

October 5, 2009

Before the typhoon hit Manila last week, MG together with her schoolmates visited the zoo. Of course, I was with her the whole time. I didn’t know that touring the zoo could be so tiring. I slept for 3 straight hours when we got home because my whole body ached. It was as if I did an hour of weight training or treadmill. But my kid enjoyed it. And to prove it, here are some pictures:
