Have you tried Goji juice? Out of all the health juices I’ve tried in the past, this one really worked for me. Just drinking 4 ounces of this a day made a difference in my overall health. I had more energy. I slept like a baby and I felt good generally. Are you a health buff? Then you must include Goji in your health regimen. By the way, it tastes good, too.

photo of the day: thanksgiving
I like the smell of cooking food. My sister feels the opposite. I like being in a place that smells like people live and cook there. I like to wake up to the smell of coffee and toast in the morning or bacon and eggs and garlic rice.
It’s Thanksgiving in some parts of the world. A lot of cooking going on. A lot of turkey. Everybody, it seems, is in a festive mood. Even here in our part of the world. Because of Twilight, perhaps.
Anyway, happy thanksgiving and happy weekend. wherever you are….

dailies: movie date
I had a movie date yesterday. With myself. It was my first time after a long long time to enter a movie house. The last movie I saw was Lord of the Rings and that was ages ago. I watched Twilight in Trinoma and I was not surprised that a lot of people have gone to watch the movie. But I was a bit surprised to find more people watching the movie alone. Of course, there were the usual ‘barkadas’ and student groups but I thought I would be the only one who would watch the movie all by my lonesome self. But I saw others. And we were kinda checking each other out. I think they were, in a way, embarrassed to watch a movie alone but really can’t pass up Twilight. Which was why I had to swallow my pride and settled to go by myself because I can’t wait to watch it and wouldn’t miss it for the world.
Well, I would make a review about this on my other blog. I just had to share this bit of insight. See you, later.

around the house: my dining set
I’ve been looking for a furniture maker for the past two weeks. I found one last Friday as I was passing through Xavierville Avenue in Katipunan. The place was busy and I immediately thought that business must be doing good. That was the reason I checked the place and it turned out that the shop was truly busy. Production time is about a month and a half for dining sets and about 3 weeks for a 2-seater sofa. The owner showed me their past works and they were quite impressive. They also do repair works for a well-known antique shop and some furniture pieces for a famous interior designer. Actually, the owner is an interior designer as well.
I showed her some of the pieces that would fit in my small unit and she liked the dining set I chose. It’s a 1950’s style and it would really look good in my new place. Here’s the photo:

It’s stylish and it’s a space-saver. Now, I’m still deciding if I want to stay true with the design and stick with the black leather or change the fabric altogether. What do you think?

dailies: blessings
November is proving to be a much better month than I expected. Not only does it signal that Christmas is just a month away, this month has also given me a lot to be thankful for. First, the construction of our condo unit already began mid this month and it’s going on smoothly. Second, I thought that this month would turn out to be my worst when it comes to moola making but it’s catching up. And lastly, I’ve gotten two awards from 4 mom bloggers and I’d like to thank them.
Ruby and Ane for giving me the Wondah Woman and

My good friends, Liza and Ria for the Best Mom award.
Thank you again, ladies.

dailies: again & again
I went to Marie-France this afternoon to avail of the treatments I haven’t used up. I still have 15 treatments with them which I bought about two years ago. It took me two years to go back since I’ve been very busy with my little girl’s therapy and school. And it felt great to undergo endermologie or EDM again. It works just like a massage but the only difference is they use an equipment. It targets the stubborn cellulites and generally reshapes your body. But before the treatment, my nutritionist had to take my weight and body measurements again. Guess what, my flabby arms measure at 13 inches each. Gross, right? But the worst is yet to come. My tummy measures at 33 inches. And all these inches are within my 5′1 frame. But I’m determined (yet again) to lose those inches before the year ends. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. =)

dailies: fancy a swap or a grarage sale?
I need to give up some things. My niece and I are planning a garage sale but we don’t know yet where to hold it. She lives in Laguna while I live in Quezon City. I guess it’s better to have it there since the area seldom has events or things like these. Well, they have the usual shops and discount outlets but I still think holding it there is a great idea plus it’s always nice to have extra cash before the Holidays.
I’m bringing some bags, shoes and plenty of clothes so if you live in the area and want to join an impromptu garage sale or swap, just leave a message here. You could bring anything: furniture, books, clothes, artwork, kitchen stuff, anything you don’t use anymore and plan to just throw away or donate. We’ll probably just have our stuff in the trunks of our cars or set up a big table or something like that. And if we’re lucky, our stuff might be sold out even before lunch. So, who’s interested?

dailies: hola
I officially did not sleep well last night. I was tossing and turning and decided to get out of bed. I’ve never been the world’s best sleeper. Even with sleeping aids or exhaustion from a busy day, sleep still evades me. So I watched Under the Tuscan Sun again but did it differently this time. I watched with the subtitle in another language. And guess what, I already know how to say sorry in Spanish. Lo siento!!!
I got bored eventually and just checked my emails. I didn’t have too many emails after all so not much to do there. I guess everyone I know was either sleeping or doing other exciting things. So I got up, made some tea and just enjoyed the silence of the early morning. We live in a busy neighborhood so it’s nice to witness some peace and quiet. It’s actually a rare treat.
I read some design magazines and bookmarked some pages. You’d be surprised how the light changes in just two hours. And how the quiet turns into small flashes and bits of noise. I can even hear music from downstairs. Probably a light sleeper, too.
So I just completed a full night’s (un)sleep and today I’m a zombie but still a mom. I have to prepare breakfast and work with my little kid with her art project. It’s due tomorrow. So, hasta luego, chicas. See you later.

dailies: box of inspiration
For years, I would tear out anything and everything from magazines that I loved and felt inspired by. I soon realized my folder of inspirational scraps needed an organized home or storage that I could put away if not needed or access for a quick fix of inspiration. I should start doing this and finally sit down one of these days with a sketch notebook or even just a pretty box to store them all in. That way, I can simply flip through my book or rummage through my box whenever I am looking for a design jump start. In the meantime, I would love to have one of these while I procrastinate and actually do some organizing.

where-to
where-to: cubao X
I went window shopping for furniture at the hip Cubao Ex this afternoon and I came across this store. The store features a lot of mid-century modern furniture ranging from seatings, tables, case goods, lighting and accessories. You won’t believe how fascinating those pieces from the 1950’s. I wanted to buy a few of the chairs but sadly, they cost a fortune. The price ranges from 10,000 to a staggering 50,000 for a single chair. The lighting fixtures are amazing as well. I especially like the murano chandelier but guess what, you can buy a second-hand car for the price of that thing. You can find pieces designed by Russel Wright, Hans Wegner, and Herman Miller.
